I intended to make Lebanese flavours tofu bites (sesame, cumin…) and ended up with these gluten-free vegan fried chicken chunks !
So easy-to-make without even a batter!
Preheat the oven to 220°C.
Meanwhile prep the bites: drain, then cube, the tofu.
In a bowl, mix the tahini sauce, nutritional yeast, cumin, nutmeg and oil. If this is too dry, add water to get a creamy result.
Throw in the tofu dices and gently toss.
Heat a pan and throw in the cubes. Sauté for 5mn so they get crispy edges.
Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15mn. The longer they are in the oven, the drier, so it depends on your taste and how watery the tofu was! Taste after 10mn and you will know!
