I’m using nutritional yeast more often and have realised it is still to be introduced to most non-vegans out there!
🍄 It’s a mushroom resulting in the fermentation of maltose. Once dried, it is sold as flakes in specialised stores. It’s seen as as food supplement and helps develop good digestion bacteria.
⚕️ It’s nutritionally interesting as it is a source of plant-based proteins and nutrients (calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphor, sulfur and zinc), and even B12 (it’s not gluten-free though).
👩🏽🍳 It will bring a cheesy taste to your dishes and I’m now adding it to my sauces, dips, hummus, and even as a parmesan substitute.
